Further back than memory serves to go when plains were vast and uncleared. Before houses and homes the bent river flowed to sea, and that great ocean crashed in great colour on the coast
The southern wind still churns and salt air scalds making the grey of the clouds
Rise and fall does the tide where my blood is in the sand
Through a century names have changed from a sailmaker to that of a maker of barrels, and those plains now bear buildings but the bent river flows from church tower to sea

Conceptually the EP (SAILMAKER) is based on the Noarlunga region of South Australia, in particular Old Noarlunga, the changing of family names, and the squandering of land and birth rights over the last century.
These stories have their origin initially explored on Bronze Chariot’s album NIGREDO, released in 2011 with lyrics to Horseshoe Bend being written by my brother Benjamin Cooper and delivered by me.
